Format:

Two-octet fixed length Data Item

Structure:

• Bit 16 (V): Validated (0=Validated, 1=Not validated)
• Bit 15 (G): Garbled (0=Default, 1=Garbled)
• Bit 14 (L): Smoothed (0=Default, 1=Smoothed)
• Bits 13-1: Mode-2 Code (12-bit code in octal representation)

Code Structure:

• Bits 13-12 (A): First octal digit
• Bits 11-9 (B): Second octal digit
• Bits 8-6 (C): Third octal digit
• Bits 5-3 (D): Fourth octal digit
• Bits 2-1: Spare
