Detailed Description

Type and characteristics of the radar data as transmitted by a radar station.

Format:

Variable length Data Item comprising a first part of one octet, followed by one-octet extents as necessary

Structure (First Octet):

• Bits 8-6 (TYP): Target report type
  • 000 = No detection
  • 001 = Single PSR detection
  • 010 = Single SSR detection
  • 011 = SSR + PSR detection
  • 100 = Single Mode-S All-Call
  • 101 = Single Mode-S Roll-Call
  • 110 = Mode-S All-Call + PSR
  • 111 = Mode-S Roll-Call + PSR
• Bit 5 (SIM): Simulated target (0=Actual, 1=Simulated)
• Bit 4 (RDP): RDP Chain (0=Chain 1, 1=Chain 2)
• Bit 3 (SPI): Special Position Identification
• Bit 2 (RAB): Fixed transponder (0=Aircraft, 1=Fixed)
• Bit 1 (FX): Field extension indicator

Structure (Second Octet, if FX=1):

• Bit 8 (TST): Test target (0=Real, 1=Test)
• Bit 7 (XPP): X-Pulse Present (0=No, 1=Yes)
• Bits 6-5 (ME): Military emergency (00=None, 01=Emergency)
• Bits 4-3 (MI): Military identification (00=None, 01=Ident)
• Bit 2: Spare bit set to 0
• Bit 1 (FX): Field extension indicator
