Format:

One-octet fixed length Data Item

Structure:

• Bits 8-1: Message Type

Message Types:

• 1 = Polar vector
• 2 = Cartesian vector of start point/length
• 3 = Contour record
• 4 = Cartesian start point and end point vector
• 254 = Start of Picture (SOP)
• 255 = End of Picture (EOP)

Note

This data item allows for more convenient handling of messages at the receiver side
