Detailed Description

Type and characteristics of the radar data as transmitted by a radar station.

Format:

Variable length Data Item comprising a first part of one octet, followed by one-octet extents as necessary

Structure (First Octet):

• Bit 8 (TYP): Target type (0=Plot, 1=Track)
• Bit 7 (SIM): Simulation flag (0=Actual, 1=Simulated)
• Bits 6-5 (SSRPSR): Radar detection type (0=No detection, 1=PSR, 2=SSR, 3=Combined)
• Bit 4 (ANT): Antenna number (0=Antenna 1, 1=Antenna 2)
• Bit 3 (SPI): Special Position Identification
• Bit 2 (RAB): Fixed transponder indicator
• Bit 1 (FX): Field extension indicator

Structure (Second Octet, if FX=1):

• Bits 8-7 (DS1DS2): Emergency indication (0=Default, 1=7500, 2=7600, 3=7700)
• Bit 6 (ME): Military emergency
• Bit 5 (MI): Military identification
• Bits 4-3: Spare bits (set to 0)
• Bit 2 (TST): Test target indicator (0=Default, 1=Test target)
